If you are a visiting or out-of-town counsel, please see the links below. The information includes updates on the A. Grenville and William Davis Courthouse (currently under construction), as well access to the Peel Law Association including how to obtain a PLA Swipe Card.
The Brampton Courthouse is currently undergoing two major renovation projects. Please use caution when entering and leaving the courthouse parking lot and building entrance while construction crews work. Updates that may affect the day-to-day proceedings of the courthouse will be posted in the Courthouse Information section of the PLA website.
Please remember, you may have to allow yourself extra time to park and enter the courthouse in the mornings.
Effective September 19, 2018 a newly modified front entrance to the Brampton Courthouse will be open to the public. Please have your Law Society of Ontario photo identification card ready for presentation when entering the building. NOTE: The swipe/photo identification cards provided by the Peel Law Association WILL NOT be accepted at the front entrance to the Brampton Courthouse. The PLA swipe cards provide access restricted to the PLA facility only which includes the robing rooms, lounge area and library.
If you or someone you know is visiting the courthouse and assistance is required, we have been advised that accessible parking has been placed as close to the building as possible. For those with walking aids or who have other accommodation needs, please contact the Accessibility Co-ordinator prior to visiting the courthouse to discuss specific accommodation needs.
The Accommodation Co-ordinator can be reached through the following numbers:
905-456-4827 | 905-456-4572 | 905-456-4824.
If you have not yet obtained a PLA Swipe Card, please see the following link on How to Obtain a PLA Swipe Card.
Your first swipe card is free, and takes approximately ten minutes to process. Swipe cards are made available to all lawyers in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, articling students, and LPP candidates.
